Blue Market Memorial Park

The Blue Market Memorial Park was a slave market on Tricorner Island. About 400,000 slaves were sold on the market between 1799 and 1846.

In 1992 the buildings of the market were completely renovated and transformed into a monument against the slave trade.

The Blue Market is cause of countless controversial discussions about the purpose of such a monument.
