Stories of Gotham City
Bertram’s Hotel was established in 1866. It was one of the best houses in the city up to the murder of Canon Jeremias Saint-James in 1881. He was beaten to death in his room. After the murder the Bertram’s had a bad reputation and the guests began to change to a shadier clientele. It closed its doors in 1941 and the building was demolished in 1966.
